The BCS (Bangladesh Civil Service) examination is one of the top-ranking exams in Bangladesh, providing civil service jobs under the government. In every session, a multitude of aspirants vie for limited spots. To proceed with your journey, you must go through the application process. Here’s a step-by-step guide to help you apply seamlessly.

Step 1: Visit the Official Website

To start your application process, visit the Bangladesh Public Service Commission website: www.bpsc.gov.bd. This is the primary portal for BCS exam announcements and applications. Be careful from unofficial websites.

Step 2: Download the Circular

Search for the latest BCS exam circular under the “Notices”. The circular provides vital information, such as eligibility criteria, application deadlines, examination syllabus, and other critical instructions.

Step 3: Check Eligibility

Study the standards, which include age limits, educational qualifications, and citizenship requirements. The commonly required age limit is between 21 and 30 years for general candidates, but exceptions may be considered for specific groups such as relatives of freedom fighters or disabled individuals.

Step 4: Register Online

Navigate to the BCS Online Application Form (Form 1). Input all necessary fields, such as your personal information, academic qualifications, and job preferences. Double-check for any mistakes. Providing incorrect information can lead to disqualification.

Step 5: Upload Documents

You must upload a recent copyright-sized photograph (300x300 pixels, file size below 100 kilobytes max) and your signature (300px x 80px, file size below 60kB). Make sure these meet the specifications mentioned in the circular.

Step 6: Pay the Application Fee

After completing the form submission, you will be provided with a User ID. Use this ID to transfer the application fee through Teletalk SMS services. The fee is usually 700 BDT for general candidates and BDT one hundred for others. Follow the procedure provided in the circular.

Step 7: Confirm Submission

Once the fee is paid, you will receive a confirmation SMS with a receipt number. Keep this ID for future reference. Return to the application portal to confirm the payment status.

Final Tips

Finalize your application well before the deadline to bypass last-minute errors.

Print a copy of the completed application for future use, such as for printing the admit card.

By sticking to these guidelines, you can finalize your application for the BCS exam and move closer your aspiration in the Bangladesh Civil Service. Best of luck!
